The SDMO brand of generating sets has been revamped

Founded in Brest, France, SDMO, with its brand of generating sets, has joined the international KOHLER Group in 2005. United as KOHLER Power Systems, both brands together form the world's 3rd largest generating set manufacturer. In 2017, SDMO generating sets and KOHLER generating sets merged to form the KOHLER-SDMO brand. The transition continued in 2021, when the company became KOHLER. This single brand reflects KOHLER's determined commitment and ability to shape ever greater quality, adaptability and innovation throughout the world. It also represents the synergy of essential products and services for customers wishing to extend their energy solutions on a global scale.

The SDMO philosophy

SDMO has always been keen to design generating sets to meet all professional requirements. The development of new products has always been directly inspired by the needs and constraints of the field. Constantly striving to improve ergonomics, compactness, reliability, fuel consumption, safety and noise levels. The design of SDMO products has evolved over time to create functional solutions. SDMO has a Research & Development department with 100 engineers and technicians dedicated to the design of small and high-power generating sets. From the needs analysis to the final product, SDMO strives to offer the best. KOHLER extends the SDMO product ranges and continues to develop them to offer quality generating sets that meet the new expectations of professional users.

A new brand but the same customer experience

By becoming KOHLER, SDMO products are adapting to the new brand and have changed their appearance to match all KOHLER products throughout the world, with a new label now containing only the KOHLER logo. But only the logo has changed! The production site for our generating sets remains unchanged: Brest, the historic home of SDMO's generating sets, remains the production site for portable generating sets. The origin of our parts remains unchanged and comes from quality suppliers. The generating sets are designed in our research & development centres in France, benefiting from structural and logistical agility and an after-sales service close to customers.

The SDMO generating set ranges

The SDMO product ranges continue through brand transition. The iconic products of our ranges such as the SDMO HX3000, the SDMO PERFORM 3000 or the SDMO DIESEL 6500 TE XL are still available. The current KOHLER Portable range includes the entire existing range from 2000w to 20 kVa SDMO generating sets. Product continuity and quality are guaranteed!
